Depends: For a true crossmatch, possibly. But males are often given 0+ blood due to lack of availability of adequate 0-, which is reserved for females of childbearing (/pre-childbearing) ages. We always need donors to keep the blood supply supplied. Call 1-800-red-cross to find a donor center near you!
