Each are different: "Tars" are complex hydrocarbons resulting from burning tobacco that are associated with causing cancer in organs that come into contact with them - mouth, throat, larynx, lung, esophagus, stomach and elsewhere. Nicotine produces the physical dependency and much of the heart problems, and carbon monoxide lowers oxygen levels in the body, resulting in fatigue, shortness of breath and high red counts
