How to determine if i have clinical depression and how is it diagnosed?

Interferes with life: A general sadness becomes a clinical depression when the sadness starts to cause problems in the person's relationships and work. Also, if the person has a very low mood, loses interest in things previously enjoyed, has problems sleeping, increased hopelessness, weight loss or gain, and thoughts about death (including suicide but not only) can all be signs that normal sadness has become depression.

Many Symptoms: Depression can manifest in many ways. Here are the main symptoms: feeling bad about yourself, losing interest in things that used to bring you joy, fatigue, poor concentration, poor self-esteem, guilt, pessimism about the future, wanting to die or hurt oneself in some way, sleep problems, eating problems. You don't need all of the symptoms to be depressed, so consult your doctor to confirm.
