Paper medical tape: Some people tend to sleep with their eyes slightly open, though there can be medical conditions that keep your eyes from closing during sleep. I recommend being seen by an ophthalmologist to be certain. An easy way to initially approach this is to close the eyes and gently apply paper medical tape to the upper eyelid and the cheek. It actually does not take much force to keep the lids closed.

Here's how...: Sleeping with the eyes open is only a problem if your eyes dry out and are uncomfortable when you awake. If this is occuring, put 1/4 inch of ointment (lacrilube (artificial tears) or refresh pm) in your eyes at bedtime.

Lubricant ointment : Instill over the counter lubricant ointment in both eyes at bedtime and see your ophthalmologist.
