Diet: There are no guarantees that one will lose weight whether on Invega (paliperidone) or not.

Studies have shown: that it is possible not to gain weight on atypical antipsychotics with monitoring, exercise and healthy nutrition with calorie limitations. I would not make the assumption that weight can't be lost (but there is never a guarantee).

See details: Diet and exercise work. If it doesn't that means you are not dieting correctly. In other words, you are cheating. Minimize carbs (no breads, pasta, cheese, sweets, desserts, fast food, snacking between meals, etc.). Also, control portion size.

Calories in: and calories out is a poor way to loose weight because all calories are not the same. Please as your doctor about a low carb /higher fat food plan. That can change your metabolism from burning sugar for fuel to burning fat for fuel. Good fats include coconut oil, olive oil and avacado. Peace and good health.
