Gravity: The blood returns to the heart through our veins. When you lift your feet upward gravity will assist in venous circulation (not arterial) and return to the heart. On standing position, the blood return to the heart against gravity, in this case the calf muscles play a big part in assisting blood circulation and return to the heart.
