Severe acne: Best treatment for severe acne is Isotretinoin taken for 6 months. It is the only medication that can put acne into remission. It is a medication that requires commitment and careful monitoring. It is also not allowed for women who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant soon. Birth defects can be severe. No pregnancy while on Isotretinoin or for two months afterwards. Talk to your dermatologist.
