A member asked:

On average, how long will a brain mri take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

45 - 90 minutes: This depends on the particulary MRI sequences and the use of contrast medium. A routine brain MRI without contrast is about 45 minutes or less. Adding contrast adds another 15-20 minutes. An MRI for the pituitary gland, the cranial nerves or the orbits require more time.
