Every 5 years...: The average person aged 50 and over should have colonoscopy every 5 years to check for premalignant polyps/changes. If someone has a personal or a family history of colon cancer or a personal history of premalignant polps, then the screening interval may be shorter such as every 2 to 3 years. Hope that this helps.
