Jock itch: Jock itch is a fungal infection in the groin called tinea cruris. Candida is one type of fungus that can be associated with jock itch. The type of fungus that most commonly causes tinea cruris is called trichophyton rubrum. Some other contributing fungi are candida albicans, trichophyton mentagrophytes and epidermophyton floccosum.
