Does excessive post-surgery scar tissue reflect at all on the surgeon's abilities? after a scalenectomy and rib resection for thoracic outlet syndrome

No: Scar may reflect the way the skin was closed, but some people are genetically predisposed to keloid or large scars. How long since surgery? Time may be kind to you.

No: Some techniques with cautery, sutures are related to more scar. Infections can lead to more scar. The thoracic outlet is a limited space with important structures. Some recurrences do occur in that area with the very best surgeons and operations.

No: There is no correlation between post op excessive scar tissue and the surgeons ability. First excessive is a relative term. Excessive may be appropriate for some situations. It is a relative term. What is normal amount of scar tissue? Other issues can affect the outcome like was an infection present? Is there a history of keloids? Are there are any medications or medical issues?
