DIFFERENT THINGS: Alcohol in moderation can be useful, but overused is harmful cannabis is risky and some use it without obvious ill effect. However it's been shown to reduce intellect in adolescents permanently and to be involved in the start of schizophrenia in some. I doubt that cannabis is completely benign. If your brain has very sensitive pleasure centers, either can be addicitve.
