Can there be any medicine in allopathy to control diabetic retinopathy?

Some: First you need to control the diabetes with good sugar control and a lowering of the hba1c to at least 7.0 and lower if possible. Then you need a retinal specialist to look at your retina to see what shape the retinopathy is in, whether it needs laser or operative surgery and can respond to injected agents called vegf inhibitors. You need to be in the care of a retinal specialist.

Nothing Proven .: Diabetic retinopathy is the second leading cause of blindness in the U.S. It impairs vision because years of high blood sugars damage the fine blood vessels in the retina causing bleeding and swelling. The only proven treatments for preserving vision are laser, intraocular injections, and surgery. Studies have shown that tight control of glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol are also helpful.
