See rheumatologist : Hsp is a type of vasculitis (autoimmune inflammatory disease affecting blood vessels) that can cause arthritis, kidney disease, a painful rash, and abdominal pain sometimes complicated by bleeding into the gut. The biggest concern for patients is developing long term kidney disease which can eventually lead to kidney failure. Have urine and blood pressure checked monthly for at least 6 months.
