A member asked:

When during pregnancy can doctors first detect that your baby has down syndrome?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Trisomy 21: Down syndrome can be detected 2 different ways during pregnancy. At 11-13 weeks, doctors can do a cvs test and at 16-20 weeks, a doctor can do an amniocentesis. You should speak to your OB if you have any concerns. Be well!
