Are there any exercises that can prevent muscle atrophy during pregnancy?

Yes: Exercise is good for preventing muscle atrophy, keeping your muscles flexible and burning calories during pregnancy. Avoid exercise that could lead to falls or getting hit on the abdomen. Going to the gym and lifting light weights is gret for your muscles. Take a walk everyday. Try a prenatal yoga or Pilates class. Stay active. It is good for you and your baby.
Dr. Frederick Buechel, jr. md

Yes: Isometric muscle contractions prevent atrophy and can be done for most muscle groups. But ask your OB for their recommendations for any other exercises for your specific pregnancy issues.
