A member asked:

How do a do and md differ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Medical doctors: Both the practice of medicine as a do or an md are recognized in the usa as medical and surgical practitioners. In the 19th century the osteopathic practice of medicine relied heavily on manipulation techniques to diagnose and treat. By the middle of the 20th century the profession moved to mainstream medicine. Now in the 21st century osteopathic training is very similar to md training.
