Can tests on a stool or blood specimen reveal an allergy?

NO : Allergy , and its clinical manifestations, is diagnosed by taken a thorough history. The specific allergen causing one's allergy symptoms is then verified ( or refuted) by skin and /or blood testing. Stool testing does no have a role in diagnosing allergens.

RAST IgE blood test: While stool testing is not used for allergy evaluation, rast ige testing on the blood frequently is. As with any form of allergy testing, including skin testing, it is important that a thorough history be taken to see if the allergy test results make sense.
