Excision.: The most common type of "fatty tumor" is called a lipoma. These tumors are benign and are often felt / palpated underneath the skin on the trunk and arms / legs. They are generally mobile and soft. Lipomas are not malignant and do not have malignant potential. If a lipoma is concerning or cosmetically unacceptable, the standard treatment is surgical excision.
