Halitosis: After brushing your teeth, floss between them and brush your tongue to remove food particles lodged there. Follow up by swishing mouthwash around your mouth and throat several times to kill bacteria that may cause odor and rinse away food particles. Do not swallow mouthwash! do not eat strong-smelling foods like raw onions or garlic before a date or meeting.

Good Hygiene: Good oral hygiene (brushing, flossing, use of a tongue cleaner) along with mouthrinses containing chlorine dioxide , sodium chlorite or zinc chloride will help get rid of the sulfur compounds and bacteria which cause halitosis. Smart mouth mouthrinse contains both zinc chloride and sodium chlorite.
