Please describe a good brand of st. john's wort and/or fish oil for depression?

Not standardized: Fish oil doesn't help depression. There are no head to head comparison studies of st. John's wort for depression. I suggest you buy the cheapest, try it and decide. The usual dose is: 300 mg 0.3% stdzd extact 3x a day or 2-4 grams crude form, above ground parts once to 3x a day. Alternatively, try a pharmaceutical (under the care of your doctor) as these have been studied and fda approved.

Fish oil : Fish oil can help depression, usually along with conventional treatments. Studies do support fish oil, especially with epa-weighted products, as a management component in depressive disorders. http://tinyurl.com/ljredu8 choose a product that is molecularly distilled or otherwise guaranteed to be free of toxic contaminants. Nordic naturals, carlson's, omegabrite, barlean's etc.
