MRSA & skin cancer: Mrsa (methicillin resistant staph aureus) can be related to skin cancer. Squamous cell carcinoma can develop in chronic infected wounds, like bone infection, osteomyelitis, that often involves the skin. Chronic non-healing wounds/ulcers are a risk factor for developing squamous cell carcinoma. Common skin infections with MRSA that are treated and resolve are usually not related to skin cancer.

Skin cancer : Bacteria such as MRSA do not cause skin cancer. Skin cancers are often related to increased sun exposure and genetics.
