Possibly: Back pain and cramping can be encountered if uti/infection ascends deep into the bladder, ureters or the kidneys. Uti's do not always do this and cramping/lower back pain can have many other causes, some less benign than a uti. If symptoms do not subside with antibiotic treatment, further evaluation by a doctor is indicated.
