What are the causes of there to be plaque on the back of my tongue?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several reasons: This is an area that collects plaque, bacteria from eating and post-nasal drip. Important to use a tongue scraper or brush your tongue with your toothbrush to reduce this build up. See tongue scraper photograph.
