How is it that antidepressants increase the risk of suicide?

WRONG IDEA: I do not believe they do. In general, if you reduce the intensity of depression hope is restored and the risk of suicide diminishes.

Think about it: A person who is severely depressed is likely to be unable to get around well enough to take their life. Often these people cannot even get out of bed. A Rx may provide the strength and initiative required to act on self-destructive feelings. Do not be afraid to take one of these meds if you need it.
