Chromium has been...: Chromium has been used with modest success (chromium picolinate 200mcg bid) in type 2 diabetes, which is caused by the same factor, Insulin resistance found in gestational diabetes. Because drugs such as metformin are so more effective, it is little used. But it does work, albeit modestly, and is non-toxic at the dose specified!
