Irritation: Cough can come from your lungs or your throat. There are many different causes, including, but not limited to, infections, reflux irritation, chronic lung disease, cancer, and drug side effects. If your cough persists, see your doctor.

Cause of cough.: There are many potential causes of a cough, be it acute or chronic. Asthma? Allergies? Reflux? CHF? Upper respiratory infection? Lower respiratory infection? Diaphragmatic irritation? Hard to know what's causing the cough without more information.
