BMI 40 or higher: Body mass index is the ratio of weight to height squared. Overweight is regarded as a bmi of 25 or higher. Obesity is a bmi of 30 or higher. Morbid obesity is a bmi 40 or higher, and is associated with increased increased disease, disability and death.
