10-14 days: Counting the first day of the period as day #1, most women ovulate between day #10 and 14. Maximal sperm production occurs when you are having sex about once every 48 hours. If you have sex every other day counting days 9 through 15 you probably maximize your chances of getting pregnant. Female sperm last longer, male sperm swim faster. Early in the cycle, a girl is more likely, later on, a boy.
