Many options: There are many options and the answer depends upon the type of pain you are treating. Musculoskeletal pain responds well to biofreeze and tiger balm. Inflammatory conditions respond to voltaren (diclofenac) gel. Nerve type pain responds to Lidoderm patches. This is my experience, other docs may have other suggestions.
