Be a role model: On a friday night, 22-year old female with hives, only medical problems listed in profile "allergic reactions" & only medication listed Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (not percocet!), suggest treating your hives as follows: stay home, read, watch a movie, drink chamomile tea & do not take percocet. This may or may not cure your hives, but will certainly prevent "irreversible hives" to your soul caused by percocet.

Hives & percocet: Percocet can actually worsen hives. Percocet is in a class of medications called opioids. Opioids as a class cause non-allergic histamine release that may lead to increased itching and hives. A person does not need to be allergic to opioids for this to happen. If you need a pain reliever, please speak to your doctor to see what is appropriate for you at the moment.
