Varicocele: Varicoceles occur on the left due to higher pressure in the left testicular vein (lgv in pic), transmitted via the left renal vein (lrv in pic). The main problem this causes is loss of testicular temperature regulation. Correction is surgical, but not always necessary. Indications for surgery including pain, fertility problems and loss of testicular volume.
