How long does it take for a fentanyl patch to work put in on yesterday at 1pm and it still hasn't started to work yet?

Not usual: Works quickly--talk to your doctor as to why it isn't working.

About. 7 to 8 hours: Usually it takes 7 or 8 hours until it works... Also Duragesic (fentanyl) stays in your system for 7 to 8 hours after you stop it. Be careful with Duragesic (fentanyl) as it is actually very potent. Often when patients feel its not working we may double the dose which can be dangerous depending on your age and medical condition. Good luck and be safe.
