A member asked:

Have a painful rash on thigh, clusters of pimples.before they came out there was a burning sensation that lasted for a few days. could it be herpes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Could be shingles: Clusters of vesicles on a red patch could be herpes simplex or herpes zoster (shingles). Both start as pain/itching, although shingles is more likely to be painful. Shingles usually has several/many clusters of vesicles in a linear (dermatomal) distribution. Not all clusters come out at one time. Please see your dermatologist for treatment. Shingles is contagious to people who never had chickenpox.
