ESI or AFO can help.: Many factors can contribute in drop foot. It is a condition that affects the peripheral nerves a back injury resulting in compression of a nerve can result in drop foot. Epidural steroid injections can decrease the inflammation around the nerve, thereby alleviating the resultant drop foot. If permanent nerve damage has occurred, an ankle foot orthosis (afo) is helping to aid in ambulation.
