A member asked:

What is the timeline for recovery after back fusion surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It total varies. Depends on the patient's health and symptoms as well as fitness prior to the surgery. Also it takes at least 12-16 weeks for the fusion of the bones to acutally heal well. So with the need for the fusion to heal itself and the soft tissues that were affected by the surgery which need to heal too and the need to get back to normal mobility and activity, at least 4 months or more.
