Any erect penis may contain and secrete sperm containing semen during the encounter, not just at the end. If the sexual fluids transferred did not contain sperm (precum) it would be less a risk. If it matters you have you choices to use EC within a certain time period or just let things develop. The described encounter sounds low risk, but we are taught to never say never in such situations.
