Oral herpes recurrences often are at or near the same spot each time, but not necessarily. Anywhere around the mouth and sometimes elsewhere on the face are possible. Most outbreaks have a cluster of a few lesions, but single lesions are not rare. If your occurrences have not been confirmed as herpes, consider doing that -- i.e. PCR test for HSV within 2-3 days of onset.
