These are referring to the genotypes for sickle cell disease. If you have children, a quarter of the offspring will be expected to be AA, a quarter AC, a quarter AS and a quarter CS. AA is considered normal and CS is a form of sickle cell disease. AS is sickle cell trait and AC is hemoglobin C trait. Genetic counseling can be sought. Good luck!
