I started taking 25mg of zoloft a month ago and i still feel extremely depressed and suicidal most days. it has also caused me extreme sexual side effects. is this a bad sign that the meds will not work or should i keep taking them for another month?

I trust you're being seen by a psychiatrist. Suicidal thoughts are very concerning and we take them very seriously. You must notify your psychiatrist promptly of them and allow him/her to determine the best course of action for you. Please don't ignore this bit of advice.

Your starting dose is likely too low, for optimal efficacy, but the side effects may increase significantly if the dose is titrated upwards. You may do better by finding a different medication to handle your depression. Discuss this with your doctor today.
