I take propranolol (20-40 mg) 2 or 3 times a week for social anxiety and public speaking. will i build a tolerance to the dose? will the efficacy of my current dose wane over time if my body builds a tolerance to the medication?

If you are not taking the medicine every day, then you are unlikely to become tolerant of this dose. But, if you begin to notice that the same dose is no longer effectively controlling your symptoms, then you should see your doctor to have this evaluated. Good luck!

Since you take the Beta Blocker intermittently on an as-needed basis, it is likely that tolerance, if experienced, will take many months to years to develop. Suspect you have no substantial concerns.
