i smell bleach or ammonia (something on that order) several times a day, several times a week. any thoughts?

Phantosmia: There are sinus issues that can cause smelling something that is not there, as well as brain tumors and seizures can sometimes do this. Smelling something that is not there is called phamtosmia. See a doctor and see what is going on.
