A member asked:

How long can a person fast before muscle wasting occurs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This begins to occur by the second day if you are strictly fasting with not taking in any calories and drinking only water. By the second day, all the stores in your body of glucose and glycogen are gone. Therefore if you do intermittent fasting for a day, this muscle wasting does not happen.
