A member asked:

How can i reduce my chances of getting recurring vaginal thrush infections ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

These infections are caused by a yeast, candida albicans, that is normally found in your feces. Proximity of the vagina to the anus increases risk of simple cross contamination. The yeast thrives on the moisture & sugar in vaginal mucus. Get checked for diabetes as this increases your risk for this. Making sure there is no risk of your poop getting near your vagina also helps.
