A member asked:

Is taking a pregnancy test 1 month after sex accurate? took 2 this morning and both came out negative, will i trust this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The hormones that trigger a positive urine pregnancy test are created by the placental/fetal tissue by 3-4 weeks after conception. A month after intercourse leading to pregnancy would fit that timeline. First morning urine samples are considered the most reliable for this test. Tests can be falsely negative in early pregnancy.
