What cause something looking like a clear, jelly like substance on the conjunctiva, near the edge of the lower lid?

Can be normal after sleep,when some discharge from the tear duct accumulates.Some of it dries,which many people are used to having, but some remains as the substance you're describing. If it continues during the day, causes redness of the conjunctiva, is green/like pus, or itchy or painful, please see your doctor for proper diagnosis. If just the substance in the AM, gently clean with warm water.
