I've seen patients have EMGs without stopping psychoactive or.neurological meds. Some specialists ask you to stop muscle relaxants,tranquilizers, caffeine before an EMG. I recommend calling the EMG department and get specific instructions from them,the technician or the neurologist, that is whoever is going to perform your EMG.

There is absolutely NO reason to ever stop any medication in preparation for an EMG study. Even anticoagulants can be kept on board as the amount of bleeding from the EMG needles is trivial if handled by an experienced practitioner. In 50 yrs of practice and tens of thousands of EMG studies, our group never ran into medication issues. Continue your Lyrica.
