There are normally billions of gut bacteria living off the digestive left overs you do not absorb from your feeds. Probiotics are just seed colonies of germs that "play nice" in your gut & they can crowd out the bad germs when possible. They have plenty to feed off in your gut to begin with. Pre-biotics are just more food for the good germs they don't necessarily need. Spend the extra if you want.
