This may be due to constipation-does the stool tend to be on the hard side? In any event, your doctor can help with this and/or you can see a GI doctor foe evaluation and help with this issue. There are treatments for constipation that may help, like a stool softener. So, see your doctor or a GI doctor for evaluation and treatment. Good luck!

It is not unusual for people to have problems passing stool. It may be that you tend to be constipated. Initially, I would recommend that you increase the amount of fiber in your diet And perhaps even take a fiber supplement such as Metamucil, and drink plenty of fluids. If your problem persists despite that, see your primary doctor or a gastroenterologist. Good luck.
