First, have your partner get tested as HSV1 is not that unusual. She could already be a carrier and you wouldn't be able to give it to her again (or she to you). With no outbreaks you are generally safe, but the qualifier is that if you were to get an outbreak you would have been infectious for a day or two before it was apparent. It's not enough of a risk to upend your life over.
